Balancing the body for better performance(especially for athletes)

One session is about 45 minutes long. You will be in a private area and lying on a message table.
The practitioner will be in and out of your room after performing pinpointed moves on muscles, tendons, nerves, and ligaments. This allows the brain and body to communicate to the signals being input via the practitioner’s moves.
-
Sometimes called the homeopathy of bodywork, it utilizes subtle inputs to the body through the hands, stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly. The moves are gentle, but purposeful, and can be done through light clothing.
-
Rather than focusing on a single complaint, we address the entire body, by restoring balance via the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS controls over 80% of bodily functions and is very susceptible to external stressors. Most people today live in a constant state of high stress. Healing can occur only after the ANS shifts from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance (rest, relax and repair mode).
-
It is best to wear light, thin clothing such as a t-shirt, and loose pants, workout clothes, and socks.
You will remain fully clothed for the entirety of the session.

The Bowen moves stimulate mechanoreceptors (Nerve endings) that overlie both muscles and acupoints. The body’s response to this stimulation begins during the rest periods.
The body's response to the stimulation includes a balancing of the autonomic nervous system and changes in the musculoskeletal system in the direction of increased symmetry. These effects, in turn, remove blockages to the free flow of energy in the body.
